3 fellas, 3 rooms, 3 worlds, but in 1 house

January 19th 2008 by Prof. Emeritus Goreng in Uncategorized

I’m living in a rented house with a former coursemate and a junior. All of us have a room for ourselves, but we are all in our own worlds, most of the time.

1) The first guy…lets call him J. Not J for Jolin though. ‘He’ is a guy. J spends most of his free time with his computer games, and also girlfriend. He is currently teaching at a school due to too much stress from his previous engineer job.

Since his computer is in the living room, he spends most of his time there.

2) The second fella is Sukebe. He just bought a ‘coffin’ by the brand of Kawai and placed it strategically inside his room(after much debate and threats by housemates actually). He spends most of his time playing his self proclaimed ‘nice’ compositions and also some truly nice pieces by renowned musicians. When he starts playing, normally, my door will be closed.

Sukebe spends most of the time in his room, sometimes playing online poker. Gonna be a true pro soon i guess.

 .

3) Me, on the other hand, spends most of my time with my computer…and if not, sleeping.  These two activities take up majority of my time. Time for work canNOT be considered as my top two main activities. Therefore, if you can calculate, I spend quite a considerable amount of time in front of the computer while at work too.

.

The best thing about three of us happens in the morning. J wakes up and prepares himself, then leaves for work/school. And then, without being able to see J, I wake up, prepare and leave for work…Finally, Sukebe wakes up and discovers himself also alone in the house.

.

Homecoming is also really scattered. Some would have their OTs, some sports and also some unscheduled events. Therefore we normally have dinners by our own. If we get to meet, it’s when everyone suddenly  sits in front of the TV. That is also if there is anything of common interest being broadcasted. But this rarely happens as I spend a total of less than 5 hours a week in front of the TV. Kinda hard to find for a young guy ya.

Anyway, that’s how 3 worlds can exist under one small roof. Can you beat this?
